Modeling for Contumacious Clothing #StylishNormals
I was recently interviewed by the Contumacious Clothing team for a #StylishNormals profile feature on their blog. The interview included a super fun photo shoot! I gotta tell you - modeling is a lot harder than it seems! Especially when it's cold by the water with strong wind! I live near the Hudson River in Manhattan so we decided to do the shoot by the river on one of the piers - the photos came out beautifully as it was a gorgeous sunny day. You probably can't tell how cold we all were LOL!!
Head on over to the Contumacious Clothing blog to read my (very personal) answers to their questions. It focuses on a combination of style, career, inspiration, and confidence - which I love!
I was also excited for the photo shoot as an opportunity to finally have an excuse to whip out these gorgeous flowery heels from Talbots that I got on super sale (sold out but here's a similar style). The whole outfit is inspired by a photo I saw of Amal Clooney on Pinterest, in a head-to-toe cream outfit, with red flowery shoes and a red bag. I get a lot of outfit inspiration from Pinterest - its one of the first apps I open when I wake up in the morning to help me get ideas of what to wear.
These shoes are a total departure from my usual vast collection of black shoes, but I love them. I wear so many solid clothes that I might as well wear colorful shoes. I look forward to wearing these with a black dress and pink bag this summer. They heel height is just perfect. I can't wear super high heels (awe!!) due to a really horrendous ankle sprain playing on the tennis team in college - it never heels properly so one of my ankles doesn't flex enough to be able to walk in anything more than a 2.5 inch heel. I do have some higher heels, but boy oh boy do I look silly trying to walk in them!
Let me know what you think of my profile on the Contumacious Clothing blog!
And, any colorful shoes you've come across recently for some spring/summer style inspiration?
